CCHCP's training, assessment and consulting program options include, but are not limited to:

 1. Introduction to Cultural Competence in Health and Social Services (1hr)

 Training topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Fundamentals of cultural competency
  • The impact of health disparities in under-served communities
  • Strategies for resolving “cultural bumps" and cross cultural conflicts
  • Working effectively with interpreters and language services
  • Building collaborative community partnerships to end disparities
  • Tools for strengthening internal capacity

 2. Cultural Competence in Health and Social Services

    (2 hr, 4 hr, 6 hr, 8 hr and 16 hr formats available)

 3.  Cultural Competency Training of Trainers Institute

 CCHCP has trained hundreds of trainers to utilize our curricula which:

  • Assists organizations to increase internal capacity
  • Provides training that is current, research based and appropriate for a diversity of learners
  • Guides trainers to develop working solutions for their organizations
  • Facilitates networking and knowledge sharing in health services

 4. Cultural Competency Consultation and Assessment Services

 The cultural competency training department provides consultant services referent to:

  • Cross cultural negotiation.
  • Facilitation of community-institution negotiations.
  • Development of community health coalitions.
  • Implementation of cultural competency initiatives.
  • Organizational assessments and evaluations.

 CCHCP offers full organizational cultural competency assessments which focus on five areas:

  • Organizational Values
  • Governance
  • Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation
  • Communication
  • Staff Development 

Both quantitative and qualitative data, in the form of interviews, surveys and focus groups, is collected and analyzed.

5. Environmental Justice Training and Consulting Program

This CCHCP program supports organizations with regulatory and policy making roles that often impact local communities and businesses. CCHCP’s focus is to assist in developing and sustaining culturally competent partnerships, policies and programs that are community friendly.  The results are successful initiatives and effective community engagement that transforms homes and neighborhoods into thriving, healthy communities.
